DO I NEED A PARTNER IF I JOIN A CLASS?
NO. All of our classes require customers to enrol or book-in. Generally this helps to keep the male/female ratio level. Occasionally classes are imbalanced for various reasons and this simply cannot be helped. We do bring in 'helper' dancers to make up numbers should they be available.
Back to TopCAN I LEARN MORE AFTER A BEGINNER COURSE?
Classes at GILKISONS range from Level One to Three then Bronze, Silver and Gold. There is no pressure to advance to other classes, no contracts, no exams, no competition dancing. All we promote is having a good time, meeting different people, having fun whilst learning....not to mention the exercise, being able to hold onto a partner without feeling awkward, embarrassed and inhibited. Most of all just being confortable being you.

Dances are open to the public and are held in the main ballroom Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday nights from 8.30pm. Admission is free on Tuesday & Wednesday. $13 inc gst Friday.

Back to TopHOW CAN I PRACTISE THE DANCES I LEARN IN THE CLASSES?
Each night there is a class a dance is held in the main ballroom which is open to the public who pay an admission. All persons attending classes are entitled to free admission to the dance on the night of their class. Passes are also given to allow admission to dances on other nights.
Back to TopWHAT IS THE AGE OF THOSE ATTENDING?
Our classes and dances attract the 20 to 40 age group. However there is no stipulation of age as some are a little younger or older. 18+ Required for venue entry

Neat casual is always the dress be it for a class or the dances. Shorts, t shirts, singlets, thongs, sandals etc are not permitted.
